LF Bioenergy’s New Dairy-to-RNG Project in Upstate New York to Slash Emissions Equal to 18 Million Miles Driven Annually

Madrid, NY – LF Bioenergy (“LF”), a renewable energy developer specializing in renewable natural gas (RNG) production, is introducing our next landmark project at Mapleview Dairy in Upstate New York.

This facility will convert dairy cow manure into RNG and supply it to Liberty Utilities’ natural gas pipelines in the Northeast. It will produce about 127,000 MMBtu of RNG annually, which is equivalent to eliminating nearly 18 million miles of emissions from an average gasoline vehicle according to EPA’s model. The commercial operations date is estimated for January 2025.

“This project showcases LF’s ability to design a facility that is completely customized to Mapleview’s unique layout and farm renovation plans,” said Brent Lilienthal, President and CEO. “We are seamlessly integrating multiple technologies – mechanical, electrical and controls – to optimize safety, performance and farmer revenue over the decades-long life of this project.”

The Fisher family has been active in agriculture in Madrid, NY since relocating from Scotland in 1822. David Fisher joined the farm in 1984, and now co-manages it with his sons Jordan and Jacob. The family has been recognized locally for their leadership.

“Our businesses are committed to being the best possible stewards of land, animals and people through cooperation and dedicated teamwork,” said Jordan Fisher, 3nd generation dairy farmer. “We partnered with LF because they truly understand agriculture and share our values and commitment.”

LF collaborated with Martin Energy Group and Bright Biomethane on technology solutions and equipment for the project.

New York is a Top 5 state in dairy production and home to multiple LF RNG projects.
